In short
Your budget stays on your devices, and in your own Dropbox if you turn sync on. We hold your contact details, your order and your licence, because we have to.
1What we collect
What we hold
- Your email address and name
- Your billing address, as Paddle passes it to us
- Your order and receipt
- Your licence key and the devices it's active on
- Emails you send us
What we never see
- Your budget file
- Your accounts, balances and transactions
- Your bank login (Follis never asks for it)
- The CSV files you import
Your budget is a single SQLite file stored on your own device. Follis reads and writes it there; it is not uploaded to us.
2What the app sends, and where
- Licence activation. When you enter your key, Follis sends the key and an identifier for the device to our licence server, and checks back with it from time to time. That is how a key is counted against its five devices, and how a refunded key stops working. Nothing about your budget is included.
- Sync, only if you turn it on. Follis stores your budget file in your own Dropbox account, or in a folder you choose, and each of your devices reads it from there. The connection is between your device and Dropbox; the file never passes through us, and we have no access to your Dropbox.
- Updates, on Windows and Mac. The desktop app checks for a new version and downloads it when there is one. On phones, the App Store and Google Play handle updates.
That is everything. The app contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It works without a connection, apart from those three things.
3How we use it
To send your licence key and receipt, to keep your licence working across your devices, to answer your emails, and to tell you when there's an update or something that affects your purchase. That's the lot.
4The services we use
- Paddle takes payment on this website and is the merchant of record. They handle card details; we never see them.
- Apple and Google take payment when you buy inside the app on an iPhone or Android phone, under their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation of the purchase, not your payment details.
- RevenueCat confirms in-app purchases with Apple and Google on our behalf, so that a phone purchase can be matched to a licence.
- Cloudflare runs our licence server, which stores licence keys and the device identifiers activated against them.
- Dropbox, if you connect it, holds your budget file in your own account, under Dropbox's privacy policy and your agreement with them.
- Our email provider sends your licence key and receipts.
- Our host serves this website.
5Cookies
The website uses the cookies it needs to keep a purchase working. WooCommerce also sets cookies noting how you arrived at the site (a search, a link, or typing the address), which are saved with your order so we know which of those led to it. The app itself uses none.
6How long we keep it
Order and licence records are kept while your licence exists, and as long as tax rules require. Emails are kept so we have context next time you write.
7Your rights
Ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for corrections, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@getfollis.app and we'll do it. Deleting your licence data means we can no longer support your licence, so we'll say so before we act. Your budget file is yours to keep or delete at any time: it is on your devices, not with us.
Questions about your data? Write to hello@getfollis.app.
