About
Why Follis exists, and who makes it.
I'm Burhanuddin Ezzy, and Follis is the budgeting app I wanted for myself. Zero-based budgeting works: give every dollar a job before you spend it, and the month stops surprising you. What I didn't want was to rent the tool that does it, every year, for as long as I kept a budget.
So Follis is sold once. You pay for it, you own that copy, and every update is included. There is no plan to renew and nothing that stops working when a card expires.
Your budget lives in a single file on your own devices, not in an account on our servers. Follis opens it, you work in it, and it stays where you put it.
To use the same budget on your computer and your phone, Follis syncs that file through your own Dropbox, or through a folder you choose. We never receive it. If Follis disappeared tomorrow, your budget would still be sitting on your devices.
One person. I design it, write it and answer the email, which means a question reaches the person who can actually change the app. I also make Deckle, a writing app sold the same way: once, with every update included.
Write to hello@getfollis.app. I read it.
On bank sync
That's on purpose. Typing a purchase in, or importing your bank's CSV, is the moment you notice where the money went, and noticing is most of what a budget is for.
It also means no bank password is ever handed to anyone. Not to us, and not to a third-party aggregator sitting between you and your bank.
